What Parents Are Saying
We had such a positive experience with Beth Huck as a tutor for our son during his middle school years. Now that he’s in college, he still remembers how comfortable and supported he felt working with her. We truly believe the skills she helped him build laid a strong foundation for his academic success. Beth welcomed our son into her home and created an environment that made learning feel stress-free and fun. Whether they worked in her basement classroom, the kitchen, or the family room, she always let him choose the space where he felt most at ease. She was incredibly flexible and attentive to his needs by breaking up the work into manageable chunks to help with his focus. She even rewarded his hard work with popcorn...something he looked forward to each week! He also loved spending time with her sweet dog, Murphy during their sessions - which added to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Our son always felt understood and respected by Beth. He also appreciated how she genuinely enjoyed his sense of humor. He once said, “Mrs. Huck has that nice neighbor type of vibe,” which perfectly sums up her warm, approachable nature. Beth made tutoring a positive experience for both our son and us as parents. Even now, my son credits her with helping him build study habits and confidence that have served him well into college. We highly recommend Beth Huck to any family looking for a kind, flexible and effective tutor who truly cares about her students.
We met Beth when Danny was in 2nd grade. She was Danny’s Religious Formation teacher. She was able to see early on that Danny had a learning disability and stopped me after class one day to discuss it. I explained to her that I had been fighting with our school district for 2 years, but they wouldn’t offer any help. It was then that I hired Beth as a private tutor for Danny. It’s hard seeing your child struggle and it’s even harder not being able to help them. I got too emotional and lacked the patience I needed to help Danny. Beth was a Godsend. Not only was Beth patient and kind, she was determined and dedicated to helping my son. She encouraged Danny and was able to get him excited about reading and math; something he hated and had struggled with since kindergarten. For the first time ever, my son was asking me to buy him books to read; for the sole purpose of reading, not because he had to read for school, but because he wanted to. Beth also provided guidence to me as to how I could further help Danny at home. We kept Beth as Danny’s tutor for a number of years and Beth was able to get him to grade level in both reading and math before he got to middle school. I would recommend Beth to anyone who has a child struggling in school, or anyone whose child just needs that extra little push. Beth will alway have your child’s best interest at heart, will treat your child like her own, and will have a lasting impression on your child.
